Let’s face it, pretty much every kid loves to get money for a graduation gift! Checks and gift cards are so boring though. Now you can make giving money so much more exciting with this awesome money lei. It takes a little bit of time, but its super easy to make. Try it out for yourself!
Here is what you’ll need:
- 30-35 crisp bills, you choose the denomination depending on how generous you want to be… We are cheap and like $1 bills!
- Paper, whatever color you choose. We like to use the school colors of the graduate!
- Elmer’s glue spots (here’s what they are in case you have no idea- http://elmers.com/product/detail/E4003 )
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Ribbon, to match your paper
Lets get started!
Begin by gathering all your bills. By this we mean folding them like you would when making a fan.
Next, use your glue spots to connect the ends of your little accordion. It should look something like this:
Make sure you don’t put your glue spots too close the your indent because that is where you will be putting your ribbon through.
Now, cut your paper to the size of the bills and do the same steps, but you can use hot glue instead of the glue spots to make it go a little faster (I told you this DIY is little time consuming, but its totally worth it!)
Once you’re done with all the folding and gluing you can start stringing your bills and paper. Alternate between the 2 or 3, if you’re using more than one color.
When you are done stringing them all, just tie the end and you’re done! Now get ready for everyone to tell you how awesome and creative you are!
