Make this Sexy Swimsuit Cover Up in Less than 30 Minutes!

I love a really cute cover up for those beach days and now you can make your own in about 30 minutes! Oh and did I mention it does NOT require any sewing? Seriously!

Here is what you’ll need:

  • 1 yard of jersey knit fabric.  You can get a little crazy and opt for a flirty print, or keep it low key with a solid!
  • A hot glue gun
  • Scissors

Now lets get cutting!  Cut the 36″ side of the fabric down to 26″.  This is what I did for my size.  You can always take your measurements and adjust if needed.

Now take the smaller piece you just cut off.  This is going to be the braided area you see.  You can do any braid you would like.  We did a 5 strand braid.  Braid your fabric.

Next, I figured out how big I wanted my arm hole area to be.  For me, this was 20′ each.  I cut my braid and glued the ends of each braid so they would hold the braid.

Now, glue 6 inches of your braid onto the back side of the short side of the fabric.  This will be your 26″ side.

Now, loop your braid around and glue the loose end to the inside of the end you had glued previously.  Repeat this process for the other side.

It should look something like this:

Now try it on!  If you like how it fits then you are done!  You can tweak it a bit by scrunching up a bit of the side and putting a bit of glue to hold it.

Now hit the beach and enjoy your sexy new cover up!
